No to gay marriage

The Centre has opposed any move to accord legal sanction to same sex marriages in India. However, the Czech Republic, along with Croatia, Estonia, Hungary and several other countries in the region, does allow civil unions. That struggle for equality goes on. In individual cases, same-sex couples have been given judicial approval to marry in all other states. Delaware was another state to legalize gay marriage after ruling that civil unions did not provide gay couples with adequate benefits. As the Supreme Court was deliberating on the two cases, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights ruled on 9 January that countries signatory to the American Convention on Human Rights must provide for same-sex marriage. Rather, anthropological research supports the conclusion that a vast array of family types, including families built upon same-sex partnerships, can contribute to stable and humane societies.
